transmission upgrades

I am looking for a very cheap transmission upgrade for a 94 ram that is stock. the shift point seem to be off enough were they need adjustment. is there any way to change the shift point or anything that you can buy that will help. thanks

I don't think there are any really cheap upgrades for a trans. My full ATS trans cost $3800 exchange plus shipping. Probably the best and cheapest thing to do would be changing the valve body with one that was built by one of the name brand transmission builders here on the TDR. After that things get expensive in a hurry.

I don't know if you've tried this yet, but perhaps its time to change the ATF and adjust the bands (2 adjustments).

About 40k miles ago I made a bracket to go on the back side of the throttle lever on the transmission so the lever would not go all the way back. What it does is extend the shifts to 1750 or so. Does not cost any thing. I think that you can get the right computor an have it flashed to go the lock up at 52 also.

I am in a wait an see mode until a transmission comes out that can go into lock up in overdrive at 1500 and tow. I wont engine braking and lock up in 2,3,4. I have heard of 1 gear lock up but dont know it would work. good luck Jim
