Down here in Florida, water can rise pretty quickly. I have also been on hunting trails, that turned out to be a little (or A LOT!) deeper than expected. For that reason, I am looking to water proof my transmission. The 47re is currently vented behind the torque converter. That isn't very high. I plan to plug that hole and vent it somewhere it can connect a hose up high. I am not a transmission expert so i'm looking to get advise on another location. I am hoping there is a location that is already treaded a plugged. I do not have a problem drilling and tapping a small hole in the case, but I would like that to be an absolute last resort. I am not using the vacuum switch on the top of the transmission since I eliminated the vacuum CAD. Maybe something can be done there? Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you

I used to read a lot of Jeep/offroad type magazines, and the deep-water guys usually just used the pre-existing vent location, a threaded hose-barb fitting, and extended a hose to a higher place, sometimes even manifolding the axle-vents and the t-case vent all together, and terminating the open end inside the cab. Seems a little odd, but, I think those were Jeeps where everything was within 6 feet of everything else.
