how does it feel to know with your automatic trannys you are loosing a lot of power and how does it feel when you are pulling a 1000 lbs tin can fishing boat up a slight hill on a 90 degree day and burn it up.

You don't get out much, do you? :-laf :-laf Can you even feel 1000 lbs behind your truck? Maybe this is a "lack of horsepower" issue, not transmission... lol! ;)

There is no power loss in lockup. Just as solid as your clutch. I worked in a driveline transmission shop for a few years and have seen WAY MORE Manual transmission trucks come in with input shaft gears melted off and synchros welded together and exploded clutches and all this on stone cold stock pickups than I have seen autos burned up. Moral of the story best stated by Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry

" Mans got to know his limitations"

Or your vehicles for that matter.

There is a power loss, the hydraulic pump that provides hydraulic pressure to hold the torque converter clutch in the engaged position... ... ... ... ... .

That little pump takes a lot less power to turn than your than your main shaft and counter shaft and all those gears not to mention the flywheel and clutch are a whole lot heavier than my converter. :D
