Hi all, I have a problem that just came out of the blue today. Drove fine all day, the wife and I went on out on a date truck sat for about 2 hours and on the way home it would not shift into 4th. It shifts into 3rd and then a couple secs later you can feel what seems to be the TQ lockup and it will drop about 100 rpms and that is it. Never had this problem before and shifted fine all day till this. It shifts great through first second and third. Any ideals? Fluid is good, checked all fuses, TV cable looks good.

My truck is a 99 with an engine from an 01. 230k on truck, 140k on eng, 40k on rebuilt trans with triple disk, billet input&output shafts, and new VB. Fass, hot rod VP, edge comp an rv275.

Thanks in advance guys

Re-seat the PCM Plug/Connectors and the transmission connector would be a first step. Then maybe a over ride switch for the overdrive solenoid to see if it is in the transmission or PCM. Someone will be along to tell you if the speed sensor in the out housing could be causing this, but re-seat it's connector also. SNOKING

APPS, PCM, gov solenoid and\or transducer, trans temp sensor, OD solenoid, OD unit, wiring harness, bad connections, etc. An one of 4 or 5 connections could be dirty or compromised, a component has failed, and invalid or dirty signal is being received.

Any codes? Any changes in the 1-2 and 2-3 shift operation?

No codes and as stated it shifts perfect like it always does up to this. Thanks for the replies but I've already cleaned connections as stated and cleaned the grounds. I have an output speed sensor laying around I plan on putting in today.
