Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I've got an '07 with ~20k miles. About 1k miles back the transmission started acting up. There are a couple different (yet probably related) issues.
1. In 1st gear, while barely idling at 5-10mph, the truck jerks, like the gear is engaging, then releasing, then engaging, then releasing.
2. Shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 it acts like it goes to neutral between shifts. The rpm will flash and hit the rev limiter if you keep your foot into it.
Now for the down and dirty, I have a bully dog triple dog tuner and it's set on crazy larry except when I'm towing my 50' gooseneck (~24k GVW) While towing, I've tried it in "no power added" and "economy" as well in the "tow" mode, and not in "tow" mode. No difference.
When I'm not towing, even though it's got Crazy Larry in it, I don't beat on it at all. I like to black smoke people occasionally, but mainly I like how responsive the throttle is. .
