I have a 92 auto,it is sluggish and is starting to make humming noise when I first put it into gear and throttle it up. I put bigger injectors in it. Does anyone have any advise as what to do as far as rebuilding or buying a new transmission. The truck also has high gears.

Welcome to the TDR.

Have you done a filter and band adjustment on it?

A humming noise in a auto is normaly a sign on a filter getting pluged up. Followed shortly there after by it starting to slip.

If the fluid/ filter change and adjustment dont bring it up to your satisfaction, start saving for a DTT, Suncoast, et al, transmission. Expect to spend $2500-4000, depending on how much power it needs to hold. But, one guy here gained 4 or 5 mpg with a Suncoast transmission over his stocker, the stocker was THAT sloppy. I think Mom's could gain 3-4.
