Commander, Co-pilot,Their is a hand full of Companies that Make Modules to keep it in lockup with four/overdrive. I would not recommend it on factory hardware , The TC and the VB @ minimum need to be upgraded, otherwise the 4/3 downshift with low RPMs in lockup with factory TC will be slipping.

If you run tow/haul mode, it will reduce it to 35mph. I run tow/haul 99% of the time, loaded or unloaded. Also provides quicker lock up of the converter at lower speeds.

The problem I see with Tow/haul is city driving is brutal, for example if you wait until 35mph the factory downshift will need to unlock from 4/3 by that time your RPMs are at basement level the Mighty Cummins will need time to climb out. Its on clover's get on ramps is were this is a PITA, about the time you need RPMs to pull out on to moving traffic you need to wait until the truck gains RPMs to pull out. When you have the downshift around 40mph 4/3 your ready to go when you need to.

Yeah, and factory Program has unlock and re-lock on the 4/3 downshift. . it seem to be OK in stock Hp but if you add Braking or hp it will fare under load, this is the area most owners complain about, the 07 factory 4/3 down or up with additional hp can be really annoying. Hoefler I do see your point and it is correct.

I have the most problems with the 1/2 shift and the 2/3 shift. The 1/2 is where I have the most problems, under light acceleration, it feels like the rear wheels are spinning on ice patches on the pavement.

Yep, if you turn the line pressures up a little bit it will help, if you turn the pressure to high (In stock VB) a couple of shift valves may stick. Another option is to feather the Go pedal,it takes a little getting use too ,but once you master it ,it just comes natural. Maybe the original thread author will jump in and just give a better explanation of what he is trying to solve.

From a manufacturing stand point,I see why DC Program/Built the 47/48re the way they did, it works for everything, but not exceptionally good at anything.
