With 120000k on my 05 4x4 3500 6spd I unfortunately have to get a new transmission. Called dodge and was told that the nv5600 is no longer made and I can only get a re-man at a cost of $5320 + 6hr labor @ $77. per hr. With a new clutch, ect. I will be out the door with a bill of $6381. I was also informed that the newer transmission from dodge will not fit. To make it worse, the guy from dodge told me I should have gotten an automatic because that are a lot cheaper to replace. Nice ha. Just thought I'd pass this along. Norton

Too bad he doesn't know the last half of 05 all the trucks came with the "newer" transmission from Dodge. Wonder what he would have said if you told him that? ;)

He does have a point in your case, can't argue with that. :-laf

Cal either standard transmissions or Blumenthals and see what they will do for you. If the trans is not toally trashed it may be rebuildable. Good luck solving the problem.

Other members will chime in shortly on other options for your 5600, all of which will be better and less expensive than the dealer.

Find a local mech. ,that will do the R&R and send it to Blumenthal trans rebuilders in OK. Then call my good friend @ South Bend Clutch -PETER and he will fix you up. You will be know where near that ridiculous quote from the "*******". and just keep on trucking!

thanks gotsoot

called Blumenthal, $3950 + 140 shipping. when i send the cor back they refund me $1000. that makes it $2950 + the 140 shipping each way. they also said the 5600 calls for 5qts of fluid, but i should put in 8 qts. and to add it through the top. you gave me a great tip, thanks. Norton

Only if you want the same cheap OEM crap. A good (DTT in my case) auto cost about what they want to charge you.
