Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transmition Problems

AUTOMATIC TRANS PROBLEMS

Need some input I have an 01 automatic and the trani slips in all gears and chatters at low rpm in 3rd and overdrive. The factory warranty is still in place. I went to a dealership and they want to rebuild the trani. Is this right or should the trani & stall converter be replaced? And yes Ido have some mods like 4 inch exhaust air filter and Bosch stage 1 injectors. So what do you guys think rebuild or replace whats acceptable ? Thanks!!!

IF you have burned the torque converter lockup clutches, small particles will have circulated completely thru your system - yes, then the converter must be changed, and the system THOROUGHLY cleaned of any possible debris that would then quickly damage the new transmission...
