I read of people making up a piece of transparent line connecting the lift pump to the VP44. What is the best way to do that?

... . also, does anyone have a flow rate specification for the standard lift pump on the 2001 24V? I have a new pump, but it was suggested to me that a flow test would be good to verify there is no issue with the tank strainer.
