My truck is in the shop and needs a soft rebuild says the dealership. they want $3800 for the rebuild. I need options to save money as I have very little to spare. I need options and lost of help here.

I have a 2006 2500 4x4 CTD stock. looking for rebuilt trany I can just have installed to get my truck back on the road. need to save what little mone I have.

Edit: in CA, Elk Grove dodge dealership.

Thats plenty for a soft rebuild. Best thing is find a real trans shop and see what they can do, or, order a better rebuilt from one of the big vendors. You may end up spending as much and get a better unit.

Might try Browns Diesel outside of Fresno and see what they can do. 559-867-1111

well I thought it just needed a oil change and adjustment

Tell them to change the fluid and adjust then put it back together. Get a second opinion elsehwere. It may not be as bad as they are saying, dealers are hurting like anybody else and some will look for work where it isn't needed. Unless that are gonna warranty it, get another opinion.
