Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trany not shifting right

I have a rough section of road to drive on my way home, so i like to flip the mystery switch so the trany dosnt shift in and out of torq lock-up. I flipped the switch and it locked, then it un locked and now it wont lock at all, with or with out the switch. Can any one tell me what the heck is going on now? I'm thinking this auto trany is going to kill me. Thank you all for any advise.
