I had zero issues before i serviced the transmission. I put in the 2 new solenoids and new filter, and of course mopar fluid. drove the truck for 5 days with no issue, fluid level is spot on, but the catch is i have never adjusted the bands and im at 106,000 miles...very easy life for the transmission. so everything works great until it gets to operating temp and then is starts to slip in first...after that it shifts just fine. when cold it shifts with no issues....so do i need to go back in and adjust the bands???? I figured leave it alone, because i had no issues at all, but guess not adjusting the bands became an issue...thanks for any input.....

Well the good thing is that band is adjusted from the outside of the transmission. Drivers side is a big lock nut with a 5mm allen bolt that needs to be torqued to 72 in lbs then lock nut back down.

Maybe I'm reading that wrong. The allen bolt is tightened to spec and then backed off how ever many turns the spec calls for (a turn and a half iirc) then held from turning while the lock nut is tightened. If the allen bolt was tightened down and then locked down I don't think the front band would be very happy.

well the shop said it was the transducer that i replaced and the valve body is probably full of sediment from the oil change..he told me if i wanted to change the transducer again and see if that would work, but he bets its the valve body that has junk in it now form the new oil change....

VB is not going to get full sediment from a fluid change, that what the filter is for.

If the fluid change caused problems, it would have happened immediately. First thing is to figure out if it is starting in 2nd gear not first. If it is in first and slipping that is a forward clutch problem not a band.

Likely cause is the trans is starting in 2nd gear warm, that is a transducer of gov solenoid problem. If those were not replaced they will need it, and, at the same time drop the gov housing and clean it up or switch the DNJ replacement.
