C-series in a 1994-2002 2500?

I need a 4BT exhaust manifold for a swap.

I am building an 82 chevy with 5. 9, I was thumbing threw the diesel dragester hauler post and he put in a 9 speed. does it have an overdrive or is it direct drive?

I was going to put in a getrag, but I am terribly sick and tired of having to push a clutch with every shift, were as it I put a non syncronized, 7, 9, I would get by with out having to push the clutch 95% of the time. My concern is I want overdrive for this application tho, and the truck will have to have a body lift anyway so clearace should not be a problem. Fill me in on where I am going wrong, Thanks Jon

scott is runing a 9 speed . 73 overdrive i'm going to be running the same in my truck,i have a eaton 6 speed syncronized in the truck and i shift it without the clutch all the time.

At work I run a '98 F-Series service truck, (f-800?) with a 5. 9, 5 speed and 2 speed rear axle. I barely ever use the clutch to shift. It's not an overdrive trans, but could you find a bigger 5-speed with an OD? I'm sure they make them, or put in a higher geared ring and pinion. Just an idea. :)

What about using a NV4500 5 speed it is a direct bolt in because Chevy and Dodge both used them with diesels and there are a lot of adapters avaliable for use with transfer cases.

With a small lift, the RTO-610/6610 w/the sae#2 bellhousing would be a good combo. Keep in mind you will "not" want to use the side of the engine motor mounts. You will need to use the bellhousing mounts with the single point mount attatched to the front of the motor. Sounds like a yummie conversion :)

i would be very leary of using the 4500--i stabbed one behind a 454 in a 86 crewcab... the 454 had 540 torque off the bottle. . with the hyd roller setup, I had problems with 3rd gear in 2 different transmission's... didn't dare hit the nitous in anything except (4rth) 1-1...
