How Long Does It Take?

New Guage Installations???

Moderator--I wasn't sure which forum to post this to, but since this is my first CTD, I figured this was a good place to start. Please feel free to move it if needed.

When I treat the fuel at the pump, I pour in the treatment, then fill up to mix things up good. If I fill up at half tank, (18 gals instead of 35 gals), should I add enough to treat half tank, or add enough to treat full tank? I add treatment each time I fill up. I usually fill up around half tank because I don't like to get too low in this cold weather. I don't put a lot of miles on the truck, so it can be 2 weeks on half a tank if that matters. If I treat for a full tank each time I fill half a tank, is it possible to "overtreat"?

Am I worrying about nothing?????

Thanks for helping out a newbie.

I use Stanadyne every tank, but add ~4 oz to approx. 18-20 gallons at fill up as I don't let my tank get much below 1/2, if I can help it. Don't know about the 3rd. gen lift pumps, but I subscribe to the theory that my lift pump has to work harder when the tank gets down to ~1/4 and lower.

I wouldn't make it too difficult. Several mfgs. have told me you can't overtreat.

I use Power Service Diesel Fuel Additive in the winter but only every other tank. It seems to work for me just fine but I am no expert.

Thanks guys... Sounds like I am on the right track. I treat every tank because I take a lot of call at the hospital, and don't want to chance gelling and not getting to work when I have to.

Dawan..... how do you like your Jacobs ?? I think that will be my next major purchase.

Thanks

Steve

Haven't had a chance to use it here. I need to install a switch to keep the torque Converter locked up when the brake is engaged. I am planning on getting the Smart Controller from DTT in the near future.
