My friends second Gen fought with a redwood tree during a wind storm and lost. The picture brought a tear to my eye. :{

How sad.

What an amazing amount of force. It looks like the left front wheel is even bent, or maybe the axle.

The picture of the axel was blurry so I didn't post it, but you are right the axle bent. I told him that I thought he might have exceeded the max wieght of his axles by a little bit.

Wow. I had a similar experience with an '82 Chevy Blazer. The tree in front of my mothers house split in half and landed directly on my Blazer! It was surreal to walk out the front door and see my truck buried by a tree.

I hope your friends insurance company works with him.

Are you sure it was a wind storm and not a mis-place tree by a log cutter?:D I see the back end (reach) of a long log trailer and what looks like a self-loader grapple.

Sad to see a nice old truck crushed like that but we are not able to resist the forces of nature. We survive at nature's whim.

Anyone who can walk and chew bubblegum simultaneously seeing photos of the force of nature like this should understand that global warming is nothing more than political nonsense.

My truck is like a family member. I would be in tears.

You and my father sound alike. He had a deer jump on the windshield of his truck a number of years ago and was beside himself for days. I'm the opposite, I certainly like to keep my things nice, but accidents are why we pay for insurance. They build them every day.

My wife happend to be in an accident years ago that totalled out her new Jeep. I never once asked her about it or even cared what happend to it when they hauled it away. After she was out of the hospital and feeling better... I bought her another one in a different color with more options. I think it ended up being a '96 instead of a '95 or something like that.

Ive put enough time and money into it to be something more than just a one nighter ;)

:-laf How dare you bring up such an awful subject as marriage in a friendly conversation here. There's not enough space on the TDR server or a profanity filter strong enough to get in to our opinion of marriage on this site. :-laf #@$%! Oo.

No, seriously I get what you are saying. It's a lousy feeling when you put so much time and energy in to your vehicles only to have them destroyed in such a way. Some times though, there is simply nothing you can do about it.

A friend of mines son just totalled his second gen this week because of a couple of deer in the road. I am going to post it in the classifieds for him to part out.
