My 96 2500's trim strips are peeling and looking pretty bad. I've found only one place, on the Internet, that has a replacement. However, they want just short of $100. 00 for it. Is that a good deal?

A full set of new trim is around $250. you can use a sharp knife and cut off all the clear plastic and buy some time. I am putting on 1998 model trim that is all black for a permanent fix.

Thanks Joe.

It appears that the $100. 00 figure isn't so bad after all. I think I'll try the "peel off the silver" technique. If that fails, I'll buy new trim.

Just cut off the clear plastic covering the aluminum/stainless or whatever trim. The metal trim seems to be strongly bonded to the rubber.

Sickly getting a make over Joe?

Did you find some new tin for Sickly, Joe? Haven't seen you post very much on the finer points of exterior car care before... :D

Greg

Hey, watch it, Greg! :D I last waxed Sickly in August, errrr 1999. oops. Yeah, Sickly is almost done at the body shop from the Ford driver's senility attack that punted him into the middle of the street last April. Wouldn't you know that a Ford would attack while Sickly was helpless, parked.
