The 2003 order sheet shows an overhead trip computer with the Laramie package. It is an upgrade over the one in the SLT. The sheet shows "CONSOLE-O/HEAD W/TRIP COMPUTER/UGDO". What is UGDO and what extra read outs or information does this provide over the standard trip computer? Casey

If you get this option you'll like it. I especially like the engine hours meter that is built in to it. Its good for changing oil by. Most diesels change oil with engine hours. I think 200 is recommended for the 5. 9 ISB. That would be more than 7500 miles in most cases. Its also good to see just how long it takes to go from Point to point. If you stop and kill the engine the meter shuts down. You can see how much time you spent off the road when you compare the watch time to the road time. The Fuel mileage count down is good. Mine is real accurate. When it reaches 0 on the counter you have 3 gals in the tank.

Are there 2 versions of the trip computer? That is, is there a basic trip computer for trucks except Laramie; and an enhanced trip computer for the Laramie or is there just one model computer?

I can't say for sure on the 2500/3500's, but I just picked up a brochure for the 2002 1500's so I could see some of the interiors and options, and they do have a plain trip for the SLT and an enhanced/UGDO/etc one for the SLT Plus.
