Trip, Texas to New York

I just got back from taking a 27ft triple axle gooseneck to New York. Saw lots of pretty country. Upon getting back to Pennsylvania at my cousins house I heard the brake grinding. Time was up for the pads so at 122,000 miles I had to replace the front pads. One side at eat at the rotor a bit so put them on also. Pulling the trailer up and coming home empty the fuel average on the truck was 19. 3. This was driving 68-72 mph most of the time. Who needs a Hemi- I got a cummins.

There must be something wrong with my truck. I've never seen that kind of mileage. 17. 5 was the best I have ever gotten and that was before I put the flatbed on.

My best was 17. 5 as well. Okie has the six speed. I think it makes

a big difference in mileage. (lower rpm on the highway)

That may be true but I thought that 4-5 on the 5 speed was the same ratio as 5-6 on the 6 speed. I thought that the main diff in the two transmissions was the added ratio bettween what is the 5 speeds 3-4 gear split.

I do know that my truck runs 2000 rpm @ 70 mph.
