Im driving down to Arizona in a couple of weeks. Can anyone recommend a good place for an oil change in Tombstone ?

Also, can anyone recommend a good RV park in Tucson ?

I cant answer your questions but I can give you a list of "must-see" type of places to visit, we lived there for 10 years. PM me your email address if interested.

I'm not sure that you can get an oil change in Tombstone. As of my last trip through, a few years ago, there was a Chevron station at the north end of town that might be able to. Benson, 20 or so miles to the North, is on I-10, and there should not be a problem there.

As for RV parks in Tombstone, there are three. I recommend the one downtown. That's not so much for amenities (clean and adequate), but you can walk to everything from it. The price is pretty good, as well. I think the name is Wells Fargo, but I am likely wrong. There's another one a few blocks to the NW, and then a KOA on the outskirts. Don't worry about shade. There isn't any. Hot as it may get during the day, it will cool off at night.

Have a good trip.

Cactus Country RV Resort just east of Tucson is one I think you might like. Exit 275 off of I10, north about 1/4 mile and you are there. Close to everything in Tucson but desert all around you. Wife and I stay there for 3 months every winter.

Wooops. I misread the original post. RV Parks in Tucson, not Tombstone. I stand by my Tombstone suggestions, and also agree with Cactus Country. There are several nice RV parks in Tucson, and a Cummins SW dealer.

I was passing through Tucson a few years ago and couldn't find a park with any room. (Winter) Someone told me to go to the fairgrounds just a few miles east of Tucson and I would find full hookups and it was cheap. Someone said $4. 00, but I looked all over the place and couldn't find anyone to give my money to. We were the only rig there.

Prince of Tucson RV Park at I10 and Prince Road, north side of town. Lots of room this time of year as it is to be 100 degrees today in Phoenix. Send PM if you want more details.

Is there any chance you are going through Willcox which is on I-10 about 30 miles east of Benson which is your turnoff point? There is a great diesel repair shop there where I get my big truck worked on and they also do work on our little trucks with quite a bit of parts in stock. If you could catch me at the right time you could use my airconditioned shop for a service. I live in Safford on Hwy 70.

Safford is a really nice and friendly town. I spent two weeks about six years ago doing a gold examination near the Gila Box.

There is a real nice State Park in Catalina, on the Northwest side of Tucson. Not too far North of Ina road on the road that goes to Oracle. They do have a limited amount of sites with AC hookups, and this time of year, would probably not be too difficult to get into, esp. if you come in during the week rather than the weekend.

I'd have my oil changed in Tucson. Cummins SW is easy to get to.

HEY Buck; You go to AZ. in Winter, not in June.

(I sort of have standing to comment, I grew up in Phoenix; now I spend Jan and Feb down there and the rest of year on the Oregon Coast. )

Hwy 89A between Flagstaff and Sedona will be closed this Wednesday to all but local traffic. The closure will continue until it rains. Hard.

It's really dry down here and all the signs in the National Forest are posted EXTREME FIRE DANGER.
