Trip to Homer, Ak to deliver a new boat......Sunrise in Cantwell, Alaska

Had to drive from Fairbanks to Homer to deliver a new boat for a customer in Kodiak.........nice sunrise in Cantwell, Alaska along the way. I tried to get a picture of Mt McKinley but the camera started acting up...... Hauled two inboard V-8's in the bed, the boat and another outboard inside the boat that was also heading to Kodiak. Truck managed 12.9 mpg to Homer and 20.6 return empty. Drove like a maniac both ways.

Are the roads still icy in the mornings up there?

The Boat is an Alweld Escort bay boat. It has a fixed fuel tank, 175 Yamaha four stroke and other than that is pretty basic. In the lower 48 a single axle trailer would be more than adequate but the poor road conditions up here make a double axle setup a good choice.

Roads have been great for about two weeks. Still getting some snow here and there up north............still winter above the Yukon.

Did you take the boat to KodiaK by way of the Marine Hwy ferry? We've been to Homer, Homer Spit twice and Kodiac once. Planning on going again this July.
