I seem to remember some folks asking to see pics of the triple dash pods... I know it's been a while but if anyone is still interested I have a few pics in my reader's gallery.

Thanks! It's the Autometer pod... I got it and the guages from Genos.

Yes there is drilling to be done on the dash but only on the plastic plastic panel that runs along the windshield... the one the pod actually mounts to. (the only other drilling I had to do was for the pyrometer at the exhaust manifold) I used a 1/2" bit and drilled directly under the pod... which is what the directions specify... probably could have used a 9/16 bit but the 1/2 worked for me.

As for the wires... that was a tad harder... I brought them in through the firewall... rubber grommet with other stuff running through it beneath where the clutch linkage would be on a 6spd and ran it straight up... with the exception the the steering wheel being tough to manuever around there is a lot of room to work.

From there I just ran them straight up and they come right through the top of the dash... once you remove the necessary plastic panels it's simple. Use a flashlight on your dash from up above and you'll see the light coming down from underneath in order to see where to run the wires up.

Probably the hardest part was getting the windshield panel with the pod attached back down snug... . the windshield is raked pretty steep and although it will fit it's tight.

Why did they change the design of the gauge layout as compared to the 2nd gen? I like the way my 3 gauges were lined up evenly in a row, all angled toward the driver a tad, with the pod in the very center of the windshield. This one doesn't look like it's centered and I'm not crazy about the way the middle gauge is higher than the other two. Is this just personal preference and the way you did it, or does it have to be done that way with that pod? If the latter, I think I'm going to have to use a 2ng gen pod and modify it to fit like I saw someone else do on here.

It was changed because the truck was changed a fair bit. I believe the windshield rake it steeper than the 2nd gens and the interior dash componants are different as a result.

As for the center guage being higher... it looks more drastic in the pic than it really is... I mean we're talking less than 1/2" higher.

Are you saying the 2nd gens was centered on the dash? Meaning halfway between drivers and passenger side? If so I like this setup much better... it's directly in line of sight in front of the steering wheel... I don;t have to look side to side... just glance down a bit.

Looks good. Do you get any glare on the windshield?? I used an old style pod and made it work, but I'm getting glare!

No glare to speak of... if the sun hits me just right while I'm on road I can see a very light reflaection of the pod in the windshield... but it rarely occurs.
