After a transmission shop checked my check engine light codes
and disassembled my transmission they found it ready to lockup.
There was a lot of metal and the main gear, that fits into the planetary
gear set (of which there were only 4 gears) was badly shaved down.
I had them put in a Triple-lock torque converter, hardened input shaft,
a shift kit and they boosted up the hydraulic psi. The truck shifts hard
now (I expected a change in how it hooks up) but didn't expect it to be so
dramatic. The truck only had 106K on it so I am going to ask my local
Dodge dealer why I had an early failure. Wanted to beef up the transmission
anyway so that I can start making engine modifications.
Anyone have any comments on the hard shift?
Thanks, Lance
