When words fail

Don't miss the Big Airshow! All kinds of hi tech aircraft!!!

To Our Frieds North of the Border, Greetings. :D :D

The wife and I are planning to come up there for a little R&R. We would like to find out about any good places to go and see, or do.

The trip plan is to cross over at Lynden, Wa. , and then head up your Hwy. 99 to Cashe Cr. , and then pick a route over to Jasper National Park, then down through Banff National Park, and then cross back into the U. S. were ever we hit the border.

Any help or info. about places, things to do or prices will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance,

Chris

:)

Lots of nice things to see and do here in Alberta-Banff is pretty nice as is Jasper I hear-never have made it that far... . lots of neat scenery too around the Drumheller valley-close to where I live. If you're coming close to there drop me a line and I can probably arrange to play tour guide depending on how it works into my days off-if all else fails I can point you in the right directions and catch up with you after work. Long as I stay within 45 minutes or so of my plant for call-outs I can do damn near whatever I please at night. . :D .

Can't even help you with a price on pump diesel up here as I use cardlock-I would suspect around 65 cents per litre as gas is around 75-78 cents per litre... . but I could be way out to lunch. Of course the exchange rate helps you out quite a bit too.

Thanks for the info. . I Finally found were your at on a map, I don't think we will get that far over, but hay you never know.

I went to your web page and if you can make that yellow bomb look like the crew cab that you are trying for, you will be THE MOPAR TRUCK MAN, that thing is ugly! Good Luck with the project, I'll keep watching it come along. :) :)

Thanks agin,

Chris

A lot of what you can do really depends on WHEN you are coming this way.

I'm near Calgary, AB, and Banff is only a couple hour drive away.

It really is very nice there.

Are you bringing a trailer? Staying in a hotel?

One place you MUST go to is Radium Hot Springs.

They are open year round, with their hot springs outside. Very nice place, with lots of accomodation.

Give more details of your travel, and I can help you more.

Cheers,

Yes I'm bringing my T/T, and we should be in the Jasper/Banff area in about a week. We plan to head out Saturday morning, and then its as we go along. I've heard about the Hot Springs and I think that is one of the places Mama wants to go to.

We tend not to plan to far ahead because some days we make good time down the road, and then on other days we are lucky to make a 100 miles.

I noticed quite a few

nice campgrounds along the route through Hells Canyon on the way from Abbotsford to Ashcroft

The views along the river are breath taking.

Go slow and enjoy the ride :)

Man I've gotta update my site one of these days-I haven't done anything with it for a very very long time..... need desperately to get some good pics of the Silver Cloud and get them up. Probably just pics though-if I had to create a page for every mod I've made to this truck so far I'd be out of web space and out of work :D Already in the hole too far between the truck and all the toys so better make sure I keep my job anyway!

And yeah the Albatross still looks exactly like it does in that photo-switch in plans now to Cummins power instead of a worked 440-way easier on fuel, longer lasting, and more practical-although a worked up 440 would make a nice trailer puller..... So I'm waiting to find a wrecked donor truck and then we'll go full-speed-ahead on it I imagine.

Let me know when you're getting close to Calgary and maybe it'll work out close to my days off. Probably due for a trip to the city anyways-wouldn't mind hooking up with Shawn L. Turbo and having a look at his truck either.

Jason I'm with you on the big block Mopars. I had a 71 383CI in a Charger, loved that car, but it got taken out at an intersection and was never the same after that. All the kids are living the nest, and now I can start building a new Go Fast car and be able to afford the insurance.

Bob I know what your talking about we went up that route two years ago, and then up Hwy97 to Ft. Nelson. That is some really great country up there.

Thanks To All,:) :)

Chris

PS: Jason and Shawn drop me an E-Mail with your phone numbers and if things work out I'll give you a call.
