ats billet with 5star problem

I am looking for phone numbers and member input on tripple lock converters and billet shafts.

I am broke down in north carolina and need to get home to new york

Thats tough luck having transmission trouble that far from home. You could call Suncoast 800-868-0053 and they may be able to point you to someone near by that could do you a good job. I don't know much about NC. When you go in a transmission you usually find more wrong than you want to.

get a full transmission done i had the triple lock ATS and just upgraded to a five star from them with a full built transmission and this thing is completely awesome. power to the ground is unbelievable compared to before. run a lot less boost as i did before so i know my fuel mileage should be better too.

I second the vote on Suncoast. They have installer/dealers all over. I am installing full billet everything on mine right now. I'm sorry about your breakdown. I hope they can set you up and at least get you back on the road. Being on the left coast, thats about all the help I can be. Sorry.

ATS dealer in Raleigh, NC

HullD Sorry for the late post but have been away awhile. Honeycutt transmissions in Raleigh is a ATS premier installer at 919-834-0588.

still in willmington n.c.

Thanks for all the helpful posts

I have a full billet ats trans with five star converter due on friday.

Boy does that put a hurtin on the old credit card :{

well I got the billet ats trans on friday and installed it in the afternoon.

I then backed under my 14000# 5ver and drove 1000 miles back home.

Every thing works well except for the shifts.

When it shifts to any gear it bangs like you were hit in the rearend by a locomotive.

I suspect high line presure but have not had time to put a gauge on it.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my desperet call for information.

Better bang for your buck.

Hull,

From the post that I have read, these high performance transmissions shift hard. I bought DTT and in talking to them they first ask you what kind of driving/towing you will be doing. For instance,Livestock. Anybody towing horses or cattle might want a smoother shift. Then they build/adjust accordingly.

With mine I don't mine the bangs. The performance enhancement was worth the bang I mean buck. Hope this helps.

Take Care

Mike

Watch out for the spring on drivers side of transmission where it connects to lever if spring is pulling in wrong direction it will increase pressure on shifts and bang like u say, I hooked up the spring backwards on my 98 with an ats trans and it did as u say but once corrected all was good
