Thought I was swift but...

brake controller wiring question

Just wondering if anyone can give me some input on this engine. Just purchased a F 350 4x4 4 door longbed with a V 10. Still have my dodge in case i have to tow this Ford,But a friend of mine sold his dodge for one and he loves his V 10. So far so good drives like a car with great performance and power. Just dont know much about it never owned a ford.

Why not,I am a diesel owner looking for some info on a gasser that i just bought. Some people own more than one vehicle and would like some input on towing and reliability of other trucks. I guess your one of thoes closed minded people who can only disscuss one thing and thats cummins. I dont think that everyone on this list thinks like you. I also own a harley but I still can ride with other bikes is that ok. I do belive i posted this under Towing and hauling. Thank's for your two cent's worth. :{

Guess I hit a nerve. That wasn't my intent. We'll let others weigh in if there are any that are "open minded"! BTW, Your post didn't ask a single question about towing. Probably belongs in the Other category. Hope you get your question answered. I know very little about diesels much less gassers!! I'm outa this fray!!

Just curious. Why did you decide to go with a gasser rather than another diesel? Can't imagine the performance you will get will be any better than what you have. I have a friend who has a V-10 Dodge. He gets about 10 mpg empty and 5 mpg when he has his camper on. Ouch!!

I own a property mainteance company,and every 2 years or so I buy new trucks. This time around I thought I would try the Ford,but when i heard about all the trouble ford was having with the new 6. 0 power stroke I went with the gasser. My friend said that he is getting about 12 to 14 mpg and i did'nt think that was to bad for a v 10. I know that the dodge v 10 is real bad on fuel so i stayed away from it. Besides this truck is going to mostly be my personal truck for a while. I will never get rid of my dodge cummins but for a family truck to haul around a small trailer it should be ok. 310 HP 425ftp should get er done. Plus alot quiter and cleaner,very smooth ride. Time will tell.

Regards

I used to drive one for work in a F350 dually 4x4. Overall it wasn't too bad, but towing a skidsteer or tractor around it was pretty much a POS. MPG loaded really sucked. I never calculated it exactly, but loaded it seemed to get 6-7 MPG.

The one in the boss' Class C 28ft motor home gets 8 MPG's. He's happy with it.

Good luck with the Ford.

My boss's neighbor has a V-10 in his F-250. He said he gets about 9-11mpg. He doesn't do much towing. It is mostly a daily driver. Seems to be pretty happy with it.

2000 F-250 4x4 V-10

My good friend bought his V-10 gas burner because his boss gives him free gas. Construction foreman. Gets 11 mpg and has not give him any big troubles. Speed sensor in the rear-end broke. Rides good for a 4x4.

I tried my best to get him to buy a dodge cummins that would get 18 mpg. He said fuel cost was not an issue.

A friend (he owns a Cummins), his brother bought a ford V-10, said that thing can pass anything on the road EXCEPT a gas station! They ran empty over to Spokane and back to Seattle.

Empty they got about 9 mpg, as I recall.
