i have a 01 2500 with an automatic trans. i have no idea when the last tiome the oil and filter where changed and wanted to know if i should change them or have a flush done or do nothing. thanks for any help

Wellcome the the site , the only way to change the fluid is to flush , when you drop the pan you just put in new about 3-4 qts. out of about 16 qts. , flushing changes all fluid .
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't drop the pan , you also want to change the filter .
Look at the bottom of most posts and you'll see that we are filling in the truck info & mods so that we can answer ??? easyer with all the info , go back to user control pannel and fill in the info on your truck .
Now that you've got the fluid changed you can start a regular maintance , on average flush every 20,000 - 30,000 miles , more or less depending use .
