Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) trouble code P1693

I was driving my '01 2500 4x4 and the engine light came on and brought up code P1693. I didn't notice any different characteristics of the truck. Anyone know what this code is for?

I believe the indicates an error in the companion module. That is the PCM had a error. Chris

Coud be the FPCM also. Need a code reader that can get to the source to find the actual DTC.

Try the key trick. on off on off on, look at the odometer window. I use this on my 01.

If you use the key then two sets of codes are presented -- PCM (P codes) and then ECM (E codes).
