Just happened to be turned to that part of the manual and quoted.

P 1740= TCC or O/D Solenoid Performance

Problem detected in transmission converter clutch and/overdrive circuits (diesel engine with 4-speed auto. trans. only).

Any problems lately with transmission?

Darryl, no problems with the transmission, just a resistor probably not a high enough value for the DTT VB and TC.

I suspected that was what it was, now I know.
Easy fix, though.

Now, I did read in another thread someone found a tool to reset codes in the ECM. Guess I'll be doing some searching.

The reason I was in the manual looking at the DTC's is that I'm wanting to set one. I'm trying out some OBDII software on a laptop from Car Code and it's reporting no codes set with a P 0000. Looking to set one on purpose to see if I can read it then clear it as well. The software can be downloaded so that you can check it out. What is being purchased is the software license provided with an access code and the gateway/serial cable. Different gateway's for different vehicle manufacturers.
