Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Trouble codes

A friend of mine has an '01, 247hp. We pulled codes P1690 and P0380 and P0382. I know what the codes translate to, but will a failing grid heater solenoid cause a voltage drop big enough to cause a communication code between the injector pump crank sensor and the ECM?

I just went through all data and it doesnt seemlike those codes corealate with each other. Blue chip diesel web site will help diag pump... . scanner would help so you could see if the cmp and ckp and injection pump are actually reading the same or if the pump timing mechanically failed...

Short answer, yes. A bad APPS will trip that code as will a bad ECU.
