I only topped off my main tank once, but it seemed to take 15 minutes to top it off after the nozzle kicked off for the first time. I kept on nursing it and almost gave up it was taking so long.

I've had many Dodge Diesels including my current '01 and am fully accustomed to the time it takes to top off the tank after the nozzle kicks off.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks,

John

I have a 05 3500 dually and have not had any trouble, however I installed a Transfer Flow Auxillary tank and the dual gage shows the main tank at full but cannot get the aux tank full, it always show 2 gallons less than full after a fill up. Gage shows full after the nozzle stops without having to pump anymore into it after shut off. Other owners have told me of this problem with older models but no complaints about the 05's so far.

We all have had the same problem. Here is the cure https://www.turbodieselregister.com...splay_db_button=on&db_id=8768&query=retrieval

There is a very long post about this kit. Many of us have put it on with great results. It works. You can read this thread: http://turbodieselregister.com/foru...age=1&pp=15&highlight=fuel+vent+kit+spooledup

I have this Kit for my 05, have had it for a little while now, waiting for time to install it, but the instructions look real good, David did a good job of putting this together.

I just run the fuel till it kicks off and call it good. takes far too long to get the final 3 gallons in. If I was really needing the correct mpg I might take the pain. Doc

Slow fillup

Yes, my 2004. 5 takes approx. forever to top off. The kit probably is a good idea; however you have to drop tank. I carry two 5 gallon diesel containers & top off manually, then refill container, somewhat of a trouble but get accurate measurement of fuel consumption. The additional advantage is I always have spare 10 gallons. I travel in remote area & fuel may not be readily available.

fill up kit

I just installed my kit this weekend. Still have to fill the tank, but I took the bed off. Didn't have a lift to use. So unhook the taillights, three screws in the fill up neck, the eight bolts for the bed, and a ground wire. Two people should be able to lift the bed and move it back far enough to get in the tank. Other then that installation was a breeze. I had to replace the bed anyway. Lee.
