I have a early 98 12V 3500 and I have to fill the fuel tank very slow, it seams that the vent is blocked. has anyone had the same experiance and what did you do to correct it. :mad: :mad:

I don't think the vent on top of the tank being plugged or capped would slow your fueling since there is a vent hose next to the fill hose. Hard to imagine the vent hose getting clogged since it is at least 3/8" id. Easy to push a wire though it to check though. It could be that the roll over protection ball in your fill hose is stuck part way up. It's easy to get at by removing the fill hose, first remove the screws by the cap then the hose clamps underneath. Some folks have removed the ball entirely for very fast fill ups.

I got one of those very fast fills at a truck stop in Georgia. I didn't expect the gush of fuel that couldn't make it down the tube fast enough and got it all over me. That pump was so powerful, I had to stand there and hold the nozzle.

Real pumps at the truck stops.

At the local Flying J I can fill my tank from empty in about 2 mins. And that is the first setting. Can't go any faster:D

I know what to expect and still can't stop it in time:eek: :{
