Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Trouble on way to Work

I was just driving along to work this morning and bells started ringing and all my idiot lights lit up and all my guages went dead left. engine continued to run fine. A couple minutes later everything returned to normal except ck. eng. lite. A couple minutes after that everything failed again. Got to work and shut it off and restated it. same problem. odometer reads "no bus"

overhead display reads "ccd"

Wouldn't you know it that I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow towing a 17' boat about 200 miles.

2000 2500 4X4 ISB w/ edge EZ

Any comments as to the problem and is it ok to still drive it that way? I won't be able to get it to the dealer for about 10 days.

Look for a bad ground connection. If the engine is running normal, you should be fine. My biggest worry would be over heating but if you feel comfortable about the cooling system, go for it. Just watch for pulling heavy grades. Do it slower than you normally do.



One comment, I note you have an Edge EZ. Is it working just like always? Might want to turn it off if you have to pull any heavy grades since you won't have any guages to look at.



Now you have got the perfect excuse for a set of 'real' engine guages... .

Sounds similar to what happened to my truck when the cam sensor went.
