Hi Folks, I just have a few questions. First, the story... My Father has a 99 QC 3500 and tows a 5'er quite often. After discussing power options, he bought a TST Powermax. The unit performed fine for about 500 milesof interstate towing. Suddenly, his CTD started spitting and sputtering. He pulled over to the shoulder, disconnected his unit, and the truck ran fine. After he returned home, he contacted TST and explained the problem. He sent the unit back, thaey said it tested fine. He reinstalled the Powermax and all was well for about 200 miles. Then it started over, spitting and sputtering. He is now miffed concerning his purchase so here are my questions.

1) Has anyone else had this type of problem with the Powermax and if so, how was it resolved?

2) Could there be wiring problems that would make it do this?

3) Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help and please forgive the long thread.

It sounds like a poor electrical connection. It could be the pump wire or it could be the ground. You could try running the ground direct to the battery.
