On Saturday I parked my '07 CTD in front of the house to unload the groceries. Then wanted to park it in its normal spot --- wouldn't start. Checked that the floor mat wasn't interfering with the clutch interlock (this has happened in the past. ), but all was fine. Noticed that the key couldn't "talk" to the truck. It wouldn't lock or unlock the doors. Got the spare key (thinking the battery in the key was dead) --still wouldn't crank. Had the truck towed to the dealer. They identified a defective Wireless Control Module----that was the good news. The bad news was that the part is on back order--with no known delivery date. This is my second bad experience with Dodge parts in the past 3 months. My '08 Dakota was delivered new with a defective instrument cluster---it took a month to get a new one. Hope they can do better this time.
Anyone know anything about the back order on the Wireless Control Module? Is this a common problem? Is that why there's a back order?
