Troubleshooting a Problem, Then a Code

A few days ago in the parking lot at work, turned the ignition on for the radio, then back off. A couple minutes later started the truck, idles normal, in park and in gear, touch accelerator and it's bucking and jerking. pull over check under hood,(nothing obvious) drain fuel filter, (nothing) start it up, all good drive home. For five or six drive cycles, purring like a kitten. On my way to work, throw a MIL. Finally am able to get a DTC of p0226b, After that code pull, start the engine, same symptoms as before, except at idle also. Turn it off wait a couple minutes drive home normal. I've searched our database but can't seem to get a confirmation on what the problem is. or the DTC. thanks for reading the long explanation.



Bone stock, 28,400 miles

Fuel filter has 7K on it.

I don't know what a P0226b is but a P0226 is the Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) maldfunction code.



You might try pulling the battery cables or having someone with a code reader reset the code and try again.

Thanksœ, I'll try that. I still don't understand the symptoms though. Seems awful early for that to fail.

You might want to check the under hood connections. Do you have a scanner?

Did do a under hood check, but???. No scanner, guess i should invest in one. It's at the dealer for the tie rod recall, so we'll see what they say.

Update, Also had a 2262, so it was in the shop for a new turbo. That's done and I finall got my truck back.
