trailer sway with new tires

Since getting the "02" and pulling my three horse slant with living quarters I have had to be very carefull with the bumps and ditches I have driven over and thru. I had to lower the trailer neck almost to the bottom to get it level and this doesn't give me much room. Is there a way to take an inch or so off of the blocks on the rear end to bring it down a bit or am I stuck. The 1 ton sits higher in the back than my 3/4 ton did. Any advice or ideas?

See your dealer. There is a TSB for lowering the rear by 2". It is a kit that includes lowering blocks, new ASB controler link and some other stuff. Some dealers do it for free some do not. I would try B Boyd in Lampasas. He has been helpful to me a couple of times in the past.

Rear of vehicle sits too high to allow hook up to a fifth-wheel trailer.

This bulletin applies to 2500 and 3500 4x4s. The curb hight lowering package is designed to reduce the rear spring spacer block by 1 7/8 inch, which will lower the rear of the vehicle by several inches proving clearance so that most customers can attach their fifth-wheel or goose neck trailer to the trailer hitch turntable.

Me too!

I need my rear end lowered too. I'd like to keep the original U-bolts, blocks, & shocks too so I can back to the original set-up when I sell my current 5'er.

Anyone know of a dealer here in SE MI. that will do it for free on a 2000 2500 with a skosh under 40,000 miles? Arbor Dodge (in Ann Arbor) would not.

what is too high???

I'm going to be moving soon and will be going to work in construction field where I could get some use out of a gooseneck. The move is costing $2,000 for someone to do. My thinking is save the freaking money, get a gooseneck which I already have ball and haul myself.

Here is the catch, have an older self made gooseneck with actual title tag on neck. It's a 30' long by 6' wide tri axle. My main problem with flopping down $1,200 for it is that the head space above my bed and tail gate are only 4"-6". I will be using back home in Cincinnati, OH where little hills (up and downs) are everwhere.

Is this enough head space? Will I get into trouble if I just have a wled shop cut tongue flanges and weld spacer bracket to get another 6" or so.

I would like to make this work, but hate to put more into old trailer when I could just get new one that will work, no questions about it!!!!

I have dimpled my tailgate going through a really deep ditch. Normal driveways into parking lots don't cause my setup to hit. On flat ground there is 6"-8" clearance. Some trailer manuf. 's are starting to put 3" lifts on the trailer to compensate for 4X4 trucks that sit higher.

The trailer that did the damage can be seen here. The ditch where I did it is on the other side of the rig.
