Looking at some truck boxes as my next mod. I figure I would get this part settled out before I Line-x things next spring.

Maybe this? but I don't want to take up any of the 8x4 space in the bed.

I was looking at something like these. Anyone have any experience with these boxes?

My ideal box will:

1: Keep honest theives out.

2: Be easliy removable. leaving little behind for mounting hardware to get in the way of "stuff"

I expect these specs to be difficult to come by.

then I came across the links above. And, well if I can keep the basic 8x4 space. I'll be happy with a box that is perminent.

Idealy, I'll prolly get 2 24" boxes and mount them near the tail gate. I will be storing in these boxes:

Diesel attitives, Max, 2 quarts for Marvel's oil and 2 quarts for PS.

10-20 feet of tow straps to pull (get pulled) out of ditches.

My 4 tie down straps for stuff.

Ice scrapper

150foot blue cord for block heater.

detail supplies, microfiber towels, detailer

Mag light (beating stick) will be in cab.

Would the 2 24" boxes be sufficient for ths and then some? My goal here is to remove all stuff from under my back seats for my future stereo. :)

Also, the stock tie down hooks in the bed are great. I would like to keep them, or have them relocated. suggestions on this?

I don't know if you are against a crossover box. I have one of these and I am really happy with it:

It has a full length lock, sticks up only a 1" above the rails, and is easy enough to install and remove. It also leaves about a 3 or 4" space underneath it so I can carry large sheets of wood or long timbers.

It wasn't cheap, but it's held up very well.
