That sucks.

My stupid transmission did the same thing basically. Top half went then the bottom.

Anyways if you look thru the website you dont see much in the way of dead 5600's. EEP, standard transmission, and i believe bluementhal all do conversions.

I know EEP includes small parts as I asked for a quote from them and it was all in there. Also with this swap you have to lengthen the front driveline(if 4x4) approx one foot and shorten the rear likewise. Something else to consider.

I put mine back together and it has been holding fine, if I would have swapped them out the first time it grenaded I would have almost saved money, but there was no way to ship it here to me. 70# limit.

Good luck to you

it almost sounds like a shiming problem. like when the input shaft went it might have caused some binding farther back. just my thoughts.

speaking of shimming. I do believe southbend gets their inputs from haisleys. that is where i got mine and it was machined improperly which caused binding and heat which caused the damage. When i called them to tell them what i found they were VERY helpful. I talked to Van about it and he told me that when it comes to input shafts there are LONG, PERFECT, and SHORT ones.

He then went on to tell me that if your transmission has been rebuilt it will not like a "long" input shaft. They swapped me for a "short" and it fixed my problem.

Mine was so tight when I started that I effectively had no nuetral due to binding. I adjusted the shims and almost got it. I actually had to make my own for between the input shaft carrier and the transmission housing.

my experience anyways
