Is anyone aware of any manufacturers making full size truck covers similar those for cars?

Yes. I bought one from Dodge when I took delivery of my new '03 in July. List price was $259; I think I paid around $219 by ordering it with the truck. The part number is 82207109.



In general, it fit very well. I made a PVC 1/2" pipe frame for the cargo box so the cover would be supported over the box and not fill with water and sink into the box. During the three months it was on the truck -- Aug, Sept, Oct -- NO water collected in the bed, and when I removed the cover on Nov. 4th the truck was clean and dry.



HOWEVER, it fit so tightly that I could not get both mirrors into the mirror pockets -- I had to fold one flat against the side of the truck. The dealer offered to take it back, but since I have to have it altered anyhow to fit over the camper shell that was installed on Nov. 6th, I just decided to take care of the mirror-fit problem when I have it altered.



If you buy one, spread it out on the floor of the dealership and inspect for mis-sewn seams and stains. We did, and the cover was in fine shape. THEN, try it out on your truck before you leave the dealership. We did not, and didn't discover it was too tight across the windshield for the mirrors to fit until a week later and 2200 miles away.
