My truck cranks but will not start. I had it towed to the closest dealer and they said that the lift pump failed so they installed a new one and it still wouldn't start for them. so they replaced the fuel lines from fuel tank and the fuel tank module they said it was fixed. I drove it home (80 miles) and when I got there it wouldn't start again I bled out the fuel filter again and the line to the injection pump it started again then I shut it off and guess what it wouldn't start again. So I took it to my local dealer ( where I bought it )it took 2 weeks for them to figure it out and now they tell me that it has a Bad ECM and it will take a week to get one because they don't have any in Cleveland warehouse ( so much for replacement parts ) and now they tell me that it's not covered under warranty 5yrs. 100,000 mi. even though it only has 80,000 mi. on it, are all of the dealers this sloooow????? I love the truck but I think the dealer don't give#$%#@##$ when they get it done. yes I took of the toys. before they got to look at it.

I think the ECM is coverded under the 36K portion on the warranty. As for service, depends on the dealers I guess.

I had a problem with my 99 & it turned out to be the PCM. It was covered under the 8 & 80k federal emissions law. I beleive the ECM has the same coverage.

I had an intermittent hard start problem, I replaced the VP44 only to have the same problem. It would always run for as long as you wanted it to, IF you could get it to start.

It turned out to be the FUEL SYSTEM RELAY in the underhood fuse box. I switched it with one of the other ones in the box (they are all the same) and the problem went away!!!

This is EASY, at least give it a try.

We swapped the fuel relay before I sent to the first dealer, thought that might be the problem but unfortunatly it wasn't,
