I was entering the freeway in my 02 truck when it died. When I bump the key fp gauge says 2lbs. I checked the codes they were p 1693 and p0230. So I figure it is the LP. Get the truck home and replace the filter and LP. Still only have 2lbs of FP. I can hear the pump running. I cracked one of the injector lines, not much fuel dripping out. So I check for new codes and I now have p 1693 , p0230, and p1689.

The truck has 103k miles. I replaced the LP and Vp-44 at 70k miles. I left the truck over nite on the freeway, batteries were dead when I returned,so I replaced them (they would not take a charge).

I also blew air back into take from LP to clear the line. Before it quit on me it had been parked for about 2 wks. Trying to give all the detailes I can.

I'm not sure where to go from here. Does anyone have any Ideas, or seen these codes together?

Is it the Vp-44 or the ECM or something else?

TIA,

Mark

It could be the ecm, connections to pump/ecm/pcm. I'd start by checking all the wiring for corrosion etc. I'd also switch the pump relay in the fuse box to see if the relay is cycling on/off & not giving the proper power for the pump to run.

Thanks for the input.

I will test the voltage to the pump on friday. That was my next move just have not done it yet.

I have checked the connections to see if any were loose. I will check for corosion and clean if need be. I also checked the relay, it did not change the way the pump was acting.

I forgot to mention that 2 different times when I bumped the key the pump went from 2-15 lbs and then back to 2lbs. It sounded like it wasn't getting enough power then it just jumped for a few seconds. It only did it 2 out of the 150 times I tried it.

What is a way to test the ecm?

I am going to remove the Blue chip pump cover on the Vp-44 also. I don't think that is it ,but just in case.

Thanks for the good ideas.
