Truck shifting problems and shutting down randomly

We have an 07 3/4 ton Dodge with a standard transmission. It has a Bully Dog chip on it.

Today it died going down the road.

When you turn the key over it tries to crank but never cranks.

The Bully display shows a key error.

We tried both of our keys. Neither will crank it.

Ideas?

when you turn the key the motor starts trying to turn over but it never actually cranks.

I was just reading that it's possible that the Bully Dog chip messed up something in the computer.

If it's that I know the warranty won't cover it.

Hopefully its something else.

You aren't getting it. Define crank. Does the starter turn the engine? Does the engine fire but not run? Or not fire at all? Crank means 10 different things to 10 different people. Be specific or no one can help. Good night. By the way, you are long out of warranty.

Actually, our warranty is an extended warranty purchased with the vehicle. It runs out at 100,000 miles and we aren't there yet.

I really don't know how to explain it. You turn the key over and it does everything it should do. It sounds like the engine is about to start but it doesn't.

You. Need to do some basic troubleshooting. Start with fuel.Is there fuel in the filter canister? Does the lift pump run? What's the pressure at the filter? The key code may or may not have anything to do with it. From what I understand the key code allows the truck to run for a few seconds then shuts it off.
