Yesterday I was coming into town and when I let my foot off of the "go" pedal the engine immediately died. It would start right up if I pushed the pedal. All was fine before, it just happened all of a sudden.

I got home and thought the idle adjustment screw had maybe backed out somehow so I played with it a while;---I could get it to start and run but it wouldn't start unless the idle was over 1100.

Is this a lift pump problem or something else?

:(

Please help.

Thanks,

Lowell

Another thing

I thought of another thing that may be of issue. I did adjust the throttle rod a bit the day before. But, like I said, all ran OK for a day and a half, and THEN. ------ I also notice that a clicking sound got louder.

This is just a guess but my first thought is governer. Try running it with the throttle rod disconnected and see if it makes a difference to eliminate that component.

mine did the same thing... . What it is, is where the throttle rod bolts to the pump, back in there, you have to loosen it up a little bit, and adjust it... You can also adjust the threads on that rod as well... mine now is fine, but for a while, it would also stick at 2k and just stay there... . All is well like I said, but it freaked me out as well... PM me if you need more help!

Good Advise!

Thanks for the reply's

I did drop the throttle rod off the back of the pump and it started right up and idled. Sooooooo, it was my "playing with it that messed it up. Anyway, I will be adjusting it probably on Monday. I haven't had time to respond to this post because MY son got married today and I've been out of Town.

Thanks again guys,

Lowell
