racing a ricer this morning, luck would have it i beat him and he pulled off before my truck broke. Threw a P1693, I read the code list but what does it mean.

1693 is a generic code that means there was a communications problem between the ECM/PCM. It occures so much that its almost useless. Whrere there any other codes, what are the symptoms, need more details. I assume the truck quit and will not restart or did something else happen??

Yea truck quit running at about 75mph coasted up to the next ramp, and tried to get her going again. Cranks and cranks but no fire. there wasnt any other codes. Was headed to the PBR rodeo so just had it hauled to the shop and took another vehical. Its also got a comp box on it that is not in my sig.

Your VP could have died or it could just be air locked try giving it a wiff of either and see if it starts. Some times after letting off after a full throttle run they will die.

Well i will hope for the airlock but i usually dont get that lucky. LOL got another vp at the shop and there is about 180,000 on mine so it is probley dead. At least it died this morning instead of on the way home from the pulls in that fog last night. So are you finally going to put them ohio plates on your truck?? Or you going back to WI tuesday :D :D

Well hoping for the airlock didnt work. The VP was dead, switched it out for another one. Another 1000. 00 down the drain, oh well the price we pay to play :D

A dead vp sucks but 180k is not bad miles to get out of one. I have 134+k and just waiting for my turn to replace it.

I don't forsee going back to Cheesland for good but to visit near the holidays. I am somewhat legal till Dec... . lol
