Truck is delayed..typical dealer crap!

Went to the dealer on 4/20/03, spoke to a salesman, he located my truck in NY State the same night and was begging for a deposit (which he didn't get until 2 days later when I decided to go for it). After getting the deposit last week, he requested that I take delivery on the truck today (5/1/03) for the my rebates, but more importantly, for his monthly numbers. I agreed with his request, talked to my bank and put the rush on them to cut me certified check for the down payment before today. So, I stopped at the dealer late last night, looked all over the lot, in the windows of the service bays, etc. and the truck wasn't there! So I call this morning and the salesman tells me that the truck may be ready next Tuesday. He said he had the truck (I bet), but he still has to have the bottom painted silver (my original request of them) and that would take till next week. What burns me up is that he assured me this past Monday night that the truck was en route to the dealer, would be painted Tuesday and prepped Thursday for delivery... "No problem". . he said. Oh well, I'm sure the extra wait will be worth it in the long run.
