ok... ... ... after much adieu... ... ... ... I am home Oo.

Speedometer question... .

Speedo works fine, odometer/trip needs work.

Would this be an internal gear thing? before I rip the dash apart.

Gauge purchase coming immediately, those gauges are the worst. I've read alot about the gauges here but is anybody satisfied with a pod for them?

I have a few others but I need to go to Trenton to petition the Governor to register the vehicle.

Guages... .

They are essential. Yes the pods are great.

Get the dual A pillar pod for two of the guages. The column pod for the tach. And the three guage pod for the dash, which mounts over on the right side.

Six guages; tach,oil psi,transmission temp,boost,pyro,

fuel psi

Yes the odometer sounds like it's an internal thing 'cause your speedo works. There is a place to send it for repairs... . but don't know the link. I'll look in my files for it.

ok great thanks... . that sounds like a perfect layout.

Its a cool speedo. Has the Kilometers on the outside and the MPH in the center. So it always looks like I'm doing 100 :)

Did I see a previous posting of yours mentioning a coolant/marine intercooler? I would love to experiment with one of those. Especially if it was done with a separate cooling loop.

I've got one complete with the appropriate fuel lines. I had intentions of using it on my truck with a separate cooling system. (32 quart cooler with ice water:) )

I decided against it for this truck anyway. Won't fit under the hood and I couldn't find a body lift.

I don't know how the group purchase thing works on here, but there seem to be a lot of first gen guys with broken odometers. I have 2 I would like fixed. Think we could get a better deal if a bunch of us got together?

Cooler: There is a marine and bus application cooler that uses engine coolant to cool the turbocharged air. It sets right on top of the intake casting. They can be tough to come by, but have found one that I installed on an '89 model Cummins "B". Yours is already intercooled and it wouldn't benefit you.

Speedo Rebuilds: I have looked and can't locate any former posts I have copied and saved. I have not done the search on this here site to locate it. I may have it in my Subscribed Threads. I'll look there. The guy is in... ..... Texas, I thought.

He rebuilds them by repairing the motor/gears. Sorry I'm no help here.

If you will go to the fourth page here you will see the post where to get the speedo fix or just do a search on my post and you will find out about the speedo .

They have a good reputation.

The City of Phoenix sends out all of our repairs to them.

No personal experience, just what our maintenance shop does.

You'll also want to get your odometer reset to measure miles, not KM. I'm sure there is some way that can be done.

Your probably right about that. Either that or do the math all the time. It has the MPH and that is fine. So its the odometer that would have to redone or get a different gauge altogether.

Here's another question. I need to clean out the radiator, intercooler and AC. Lots of bugs and debris. Obviously, a hose could bend the fins if too much water pressure is applied. Anyway to blow (water/air) them out from behind going towards the grill.

The alignment is fine but there is too much play in the wheel. Safe to assume I need the Borgeson (157kmiles)?

Radiator bugs

I take a garden hose with a nozzle to mine every couple weeks. Doesnt seem to hurt anything. I alwyas get it soaked, and let it set a few minutes, then run the water down the fins however I can get the water to them. On some areas, I have to force the bugs through the radiator. Depending on how much room you have (I have none with the aftermarket rad, and stock shroud), you may be able to loosen the shroud and get the nozzle in there and around. I wouldnt worry too much about bending the fins until you get into presure washer territory.

I have a small electronics tool that is shaped in the form of a 'C' on the end. It is small enough to go between the fins.

Reach in and tug out the critters and small rocks.

You could make one out of baling wire or some mig welding wire.
