Sometimes my truck just feels plain old sluggish. Sometimes it just wants to Haul A$$. Why? Sometimes between 70 and 75 I can't pass any one up and other times I have to constantly adjust my foot on the pedal B/C SHE wants to GOOOOO!!!.

What would cause this? We can eliminate fuel because i only use the 2 stations that have given me the best mileage. SO, what would cause this?

PS If i could make her stay in Giddy UP I would be happyOo.

I think temp, pressure, and humidity can affect your HP by a fairly significant amount; just to wild guess I'd speculate +/- 20hp. If your truck is fairly stock that's plenty to feel the difference.

The biggest difference I notice is temp... . when it's cold outside I feel quite a bit more power then when it's hot!

Yeah, But same day same temp. !! It is CRAZY. I had a street rod that wasnt that picky from racing fuel to regular fuel. It really is night and day. And here it is between 85 and 100 % humidity every day. AVG. temp 90.

Sounds like you been reading my mail. My 600 acts that way alot. Sometimes feels like about 50 HP diff. It seems to like Hot Hot Temps, and Dry Dry air and a dirty air filter. I think it has to do with Boost and EGTs on a stock Ecology built Diesel. Hot ambient temps equals higher EGTs, to better burn the fuel.

Yeah but this is the same day just walk in an office talk to a customer or vendor. Walk back out Totally different truck. Almost like it has an EVIL Twin and someone is playing a cruel joke. Don't know??

I will say after reading the thread on fuel additives I burned a bottle of Howe's using the reccomended dosages and it has improved. So it went from Super PMS to mild PMS in comparison.

WOW!! I have been married to LONG!

JARichard,

I guess I have noticed the same thing you have. Sometime it feels a bit sluggish, then hit a store, come out and it seems to be quicker.

I just thought there was something wrong with my seat of the pants meter.

its cool! every time i fire up my truck i wonder which one i'm going to get to drive

Computer and emission adjustments? Seems like a whole lot of extra wires and boxs under the hood compared to my old (94) truck.
