Hi Guys. . Did a lot of searching and can't find any similar posts. Here's what's happened. The last 3 mornings, while backing out of my driveway, the engine died. I fired it back up and it ran ok. Got to my desination this morning and decided to check for codes with my OBDII scanner, 1693 was the only code shown, which I cleared. Now the xmonitor and comp don't work. The comp was always off, now you can't turn it on and the xmonitor is blank. I would say I've lost the 5 volts going to them. Disconnected the batteries for about an hour but nothing changed. Everything looks to be in place, but I didn't take anything loose and reconnect. Just had knee surgery so didn't crawl around under the hood much. If anyone has any ideas, please shoot'em to me, I'll try anything.

TIA

Code P1693 is a companion code, which means there are other codes set in your pcm/ecm. If you do a search under that code you will find about 13 pages of threads about that code. You will need a code reader to pull the other codes. Autozone does it for free or if you have a friend with an OBII code scanner that should work. Good Luck.

Before I posted, I ran the scanner, got the 1693 and NO other codes. Also read a lot of posts on the subject. . thanks anyhow Mr Moeller. The lift pump is new and puts out 15psi.

if you have the p1693 you have other codes your scanner not seeing ,,

unhook the batterys and clear out the p1693 and see if it comes back ... it may have already cleared the codes and just left the compaion code up ...
