Truck keeps losing fuel prime

Every morning I have to hold my foot to the floor and have the truck plugged in to get it to start then I have leave it floored for a few minutes to get it to clean up and have any power. It started after I put in the new fuel sending and pick-up unit/fuel pump module. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could be a bad seal on the quick disconnects at the tank but I am told you have to buy the complete lines to replace the seals. Mine was cracked at the tank on the module but thank goodness it was the return fitting and I did away with the quick disconnect and put a hose and clamp on it.

I was thinking the same thing about putting rubber at the ends... does diesel eat rubber?

Not if it is fuel line rubber hose.

Actually not quite right, if it is diesel rated rubber hose, gas hose will deteriorate over time and start leaking.

For sure, any truck repair shop/parts outlet and any tractor repair shop.

IIRC the spec for the proper hose is "30JR7".

That's the diesel rated stuff.

Did some checking & I was wrong most fuel hose today is rated for both gas & diesel. Look for SAE 30R9 stenciled on the hose, this is the best stuff, SAE 30R7 will work too. It has a lower pressure rating & fuel will evaporate through the wall quicker.
